Flat Seeded Bread

Easy tasty bread, great for parties and picnics

Ingredients
- 500 g strong plain flour
- 25 g yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 280 ml water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg white beaten
- sesame seeds
- poppy seeds
- fennel seeds
Instructions
- Combine flour, yeast, salt and water to from a dough
- Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic
- Leave to rest for 10 minutes
- Divide into balls and roll out into flat rounds
- Brush bread with egg white and scatter with seeds of your choice
- Bake in oven for about 15 mins until they puff and brown
Notes
- Can be re- heated in oven if you wish to serve warm. If making into shaped rolls rather than flat rounds leave to rise for approx 20 mins before baking

Beetroot Brownies

Soft, chocolate red brownies

Ingredients
- 500g raw beetroot
- 100 g butter
- 200g plain chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 250 g caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 100 g plain flour
- 25 g cocoa
Instructions
- Put whole beetroot into pan of water and simmer until tender
- When cool enough peel beetroot
- Chop butter and chocolate into chunks and put into food processor with cooked beetroot
- Put sugar and eggs into bowl and beat until pale and thick
- Stir in beetroot mix, flour and cocoa powder
- Spoon into lined tin
- Bake gas mark 4 (180C, fan 160C) for approx 25 mins until risen
Notes
- If you do not have a food processor, melt chocolate and butter in pan and mash beetroot with potato masher
